Ideas for churches with limited musical resources
Singers and instrumentalists
Saturday, 6th February 2016, 2p.m. to 4.30pm.
St Leonard’s Church, Wollaton, Nottingham
with Peter Price (Director of Music at St. Leonard’s Church)
There will be music to sing and play
What can we do if there is no accompaniment?
Find alternative ways of using music to make it appropriate to your circumstances
What can be done to attract new members and inspire new and old alike?
An opportunity to find answers to problems through sharing experiences
Try new music, particularly the RSCM publications “Season by Season”, and “Songs, Psalms and Spirituals”, with a glance at the “RSCM Carol Book” along the way, all containing photo-copiable music in A4 format and a CD-ROM from which instrumental parts can be downloaded for many items.
If numbers of singers or instrumentalists in your place of worship are small, if abilities are limited, if you are struggling in any way, or if you think you might have some good ideas to share, then come along. If you just want to hear what others have to say, enjoy discovering new ideas for music, or are looking for inspiration to re-invigorate your group, do come.
