The ‘Voice for Life’ training programme offers a structured method of vocal training for people of all ages, all voices and all abilities. All training materials are provided in a Choir Trainer’s Manual and there are individual workbooks for each singer.
The programme is designed to support and promote singing in churches, schools and other communities. It includes a range of teaching material and supporting resources and gives plenty of advice on the practicalities of running a choir.
There are four levels, providing training for beginners through to advanced singers of all voices and of any age. The four levels are Light Blue, Dark Blue, Red and Yellow, with appropriate ribbons with medallions to be used after successful completion of each stage if that is the wish of the organisation using the scheme. For children this is certainly an incentive.
Every level of Voice for Life provides training in five core areas:
- enabling suitably trained and experienced musicians to lead and inspire
- reversing the present decline in singing in and out of church
- understanding the nature and use of music in worship
